Application Cautions

Make sure Detour Gel Rat Repellent is never placed in areas where humans may accidentally come in contact with the product. The active ingredient, White Pepper, may cause a reddening of the skin or eye irritation. Applicators should wear latex gloves when applying Detour Gel Rat Repellent. Any product that contacts the skin should be removed by immediately washing the affected area with soap and water or through the use of baby wipes or other alcohol-based wipes.

General Use Instructions (Specific strategies for the use of Detour Gel Rat Repellent are outlined below!) Detour Gel Rat Repellent must be placed in the direct path of Rodents where contact will occur. Look for areas of rodent activity including locations where droppings, rub marks or gnaw marks are visible and place Detour Gel Rat Repellent in the path of the rodents. Detour Gel Rat Repellent may be used in any of the locations listed as long as placements are in areas where people or pets will not contact the applied material.

How to use?

Place Detour Gel Rat Repellent trays in areas where rats and mice will likely cross over them as they move from hiding places to feeding areas. Best locations are along walls, runways, gnawed openings and near burrows where rodents are most likely to travel. Place Detour Gel Rat Repellent Trap around areas where rats mat enter like both sides of doors and holes in walls. Use snap traps and glue boards near Detour Gel Rat Repellent trays.

Detour Gel Rat Repellent can be used with or without bait attractants. To use an attractant, place the rodent’s favorite food right on top of the Detour Gel in the center of the tray. In case, we have used peanuts for rats. For rats and mice, chocolate candy bars, fresh fruits or nuts.

To increase effectiveness, block passageways to force rodents to travel directly over the detour Gel Rat Repellent trays. When placing the tray on sites such as ledges, pipes, poles etc. secure by wiring or taping in place to ensure that rats and mice will contact the product but will not knock the Detour Gel Rat Repellent trays off the ledge.
